LUXURY BEYOND LEATHER
Impeccable craftsmanship is the beating heart of Pīferi; social responsibility is our soul.
Our shoes are all handmade in Italy. There, care and accuracy are practiced down to the very last detail. We are committed to supporting the local economy, traditional craftsmanship and suppliers who, like us, value people and their wellbeing.
Our upper materials
Our BIOVEG-certified Bio Vegan Nappa is composed of 48% bio polyols derived from non-food and GMO-free field corn. This material is also known for its technical performance and aesthetic appeal. It’s produced using manufacturing technologies with a reduced environmental impact.
For the eco-geeks among you (we can relate), here are the stats. Compared to traditional production methods, the processes used to make our Bio Vegan Nappa have a 13% lighter carbon footprint, use 44% less energy, and reduce CFC emissions by 32%.
Our Vegan suede, is made using 100% recycled PET, which includes post-consumer waste such as plastic bottles. Not only does it utilise waste that would normally end up in a landfill or the ocean, it also happens to be buttery soft and beautifully velvety.
Our insoles and heels
Every Pīferi insole is made using 100% pure cellulose - from suppliers that are certified by the Forest Stewardship Council which promotes the responsible management of the world’s forests. Our heels are crafted from Recycled ABS: a recycled plastic compound that is widely recognised as more durable, longer-lasting, and easier to recycle than PVC.
We use, in our sole production, innovative and technical materials, such as Thunit®. Thunit® is non-slip and durable, flexible and water-resistant.
Thunit® is made of 50% synthetic rubber, 40% inorganic mineral composts (silicones and mixed clay), and 10% additives (fastenings, pigments).
Every pair of Pīferi shoes is wrapped in 100% recycled tissue paper and arrives nestled in a certified organic cotton dust-bag and recycled cardboard box; besides, the glue we use is water-based and both solvent and animal-free.
